Taking Your Dog on a Camping Trip? Don't Go Without One of These.

Face it. You get a dog so you can spoil it. And whether you're a camper or not, a sleeping bag is the perfect way to show the pooch that you care. The best one I've found, and the one our dog absolutely loves, is the Coleman Hibernation Sleeping Bag for Dogs. It's basically a regular sleeping bag, just a lot smaller, unless, of course, you have a larger dog and need a larger bag. It's really cool.

When my better half told me she ordered a sleeping bag for the dog, I must say I was a bit surprised. I didn't even know there was such a thing, but I was pleased to see that she (the dog, not my wife) took to it right away. It has a number of great features, not the least of which are the heavy duty zippers and soft interior. Speaking of zippers, one of the neat features is something called a "zipper plow" which prevents the material from getting caught in the zipper.

This bag comes complete with something called ComfortSmart technology that assures the insulation stays in place and the zipper works the way it's supposed to work. If you take your pooch on a lot of trips, it even comes with a compression strap. The only feature your dog probably cares about, though, is the ThermoLock insulation that keeps him/her warm and cozy.

A few other features include a water-resistant bottom, pillowy fleece for comfort, sturdy cotton, a Zipper Glide for easier zipping, and elements that ensure easy operation while at the same time preventing heat loss.

Yet a few other features that make the Hibernation bag a hit include the Comfort Cuff that gives the dog a soft place to rest its face, the Comfort Smart coil system that molds to the dog's body, and a compression strap that allows you to easily take the bag with you wherever you go. Lastly, you'll find that the bag opens up completely, offering extra protection for your furniture and your car seats.

Even if you're not a camper, your dog will enjoy the Hibernation bag on those chilly nights when the regular doggie bed just won't do. Be aware that there are varying sizes, so choose the one best suited for your dog. He or she will appreciate you even more.
